I feel like I betrayed my beloved Burgundy, but Provence just keeps luring me back for more as of lately. It took me by surprise with its subtle, intoxicating charms. I can’t quite put a finger on what it is. Is it the scents, the warmth, the sun? Or is it the charming villages, the food, the wine? Anyone who lives in Provence or has traveled there understands its hold.
Provence is a land of rugged, natural beauty that has inspired many artists. It truly delights the senses. Be it the lavender, the sunflowers, the olive groves, the hilltop villages, the cobblestone streets, the blue waters of the Côte d′Azur, Provence captivates its visitors. I am particularly taken by the Luberon region right now. Here are some pictures that capture the essence of Provence to me.
Whew, fantastic photos.
There’s worse things than to love Provence & Bourgogne…but it’s a heart sick situation….so much to adore!
